Our client, a leading electronics contract manufacturer, is seeking a detail – oriented Quality Engineer to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems and processes to ensure full compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines within an electronics contract manufacturing environment. This role will focus on PCBA (printed circuit board assembly), box build, and final product testing processes.

This role is for first shift: (Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 7:00 AM–11:00 AM)

What YOU get to DO in this important role:

  • Ensure compliance with AS9100/ISO 13485, IPC-A-610, and customer-specific quality standards.
  • Review customer specifications and translate quality requirements into practical manufacturing processes.
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for both internal and external quality issues.
  • Monitor and analyze quality metrics such as yield, DPPM, and rework rates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct internal, process, and supplier audits; support external ISO and customer audits.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns and support New Product Introduction (NPI).
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation including control plans, FMEAs, inspection plans, and work instructions.
  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints and RMAs, ensuring prompt resolution and communication.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI), incoming inspections, and final product inspections.
  • Deliver training sessions to educate employees on quality-related topics.
  • Provide data-driven insights to quality and manufacturing departments.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies and reporting concerns.
  • Actively contribute to the organization’s quality goals through accountability and continuous engagement.

What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (Electrical or Industrial Engineering preferred).
  • 1–3 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within electronics manufacturing.
  • Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485) and ability to apply AS9100 standards in production settings.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, and CAPA.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office and QMS systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and multitasking abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with SMT/Through Hole circuit board assembly production, engineering, or quality assurance is preferred.
  • Experience with cable/wire harness assembly is a plus.
