Our client, a leading steel fabricator in Texas, is seeking a Vice President of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) to join their executive leadership team. This individual will champion a proactive and innovative safety culture through data-driven decision-making, industry best practices, and the strategic implementation of safety programs across multiple locations in Texas. The ideal candidate will lead EH&S initiatives that protect people, property, and the organization’s long-term operational integrity.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the selected candidate will guide safety professionals, ensure regulatory compliance, manage risk, and oversee insurance programs. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for a collaborative leader with a deep understanding of environmental health, safety management, and regulatory frameworks.


What YOU get to DO in this critical leadership role:

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the President/COO on EH&S risk mitigation and compliance.

  • Design and implement innovative EH&S programs and initiatives across all company operations.

  • Promote continuous improvement through performance metrics and predictive safety analytics.

  • Oversee and enforce compliance with OSHA, DOT, FMCSA, AISC, AWS, and other regulatory bodies.

  • Direct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and safety audits.

  • Represent the company in professional organizations and industry groups.

  • Manage DOT driver compliance and collaborate with HR and transportation teams.

  • Administer insurance programs and serve as liaison with carriers for claims and policy management.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of safety professionals and trade partners.

  • Define safety training programs and emergency action plans for job sites and offices.


What you NEED to SUCCEED in this impactful role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field.

  • 15+ years of progressive EH&S leadership experience, preferably in steel fabrication or construction.

  • OSHA certifications (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire).

  • CSP or CHST certifications strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA compliance as well as Texas Workers’ Compensation laws.

  • Demonstrated experience managing insurance programs and safety-related claims.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred.

  • Must be willing and able to travel across Central Texas, South Texas, DFW, Houston, and Trinity for site visits
